How to Remove Water-based Old Stains From Clothes?

Water-based stains (for example tea, coffee, wine, and foods) are full of acids. So for treating this type of stains you can apply white vinegar.
Lay out the clothing and apply a small amount of vinegar to the stained area. Blot the stain with a white paper towel and then rinse the fabric under cool water.
After this blot the stain with a dishwashing detergent. Make sure though that it’s dye free. Rinse again under a stream of water.
Keeping alternating these two cleaning solutions until the stain lifts completely.
Finish by laundering the garment in the washer.
